RIYADH — Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Salman and Crown Prince and Prime Minister Mohammed bin Salman congratulated Brazilian President Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva on his re-election to a new presidential term.
In separate cables sent to Lula da Silva, the King and the Crown Prince extended their sincere congratulations and best wishes for the president’s continued success, as well as continued progress and prosperity for the friendly people of Brazil.
Lula da Silva has won a fourth term in office in a dramatic comeback over his right-wing challenger Flávio Bolsonaro. Left-wing leader Lula took 51.79 percent of votes, becoming the first president since Brazil’s return to civilian rule in 1985 to be elected after losing the first round of voting.
