DAMMAM — The Eastern Province branch of the Ministry of Health has clarified the circumstances surrounding the death of a person injured in the attack on King Fahd International Airport in Dammam, confirming that the patient died after receiving medical treatment at Saudi German Hospital.

The clarification followed claims circulating on social media regarding the hospital’s handling of one of the victims of Wednesday’s attack.

The ministry’s regional branch said it had investigated the circumstances of the case and reviewed the patient’s medical records and the procedures followed by the hospital.

It confirmed that Saudi German Hospital in Dammam admitted the injured patient and provided the necessary medical care immediately upon arrival.

However, the patient subsequently died at the hospital, the statement said.

The deceased was then transferred to Dammam Medical Complex to complete the official procedures related to death registration and burial.

The Eastern Province Health Department extended its condolences and sympathy to the deceased’s family.

The General Authority of Civil Aviation (GACA) had earlier confirmed that two people died following the attack on King Fahd International Airport on Wednesday evening, October 21.
