RIYADH — Dr. Esam Alwagait, director of the National Information Center at the Saudi Data & Artificial Intelligence Authority (SDAIA), said that the Tawakkalna application recorded an average of more than 4.4 billion transactions and over 13.3 million active users per month during the past six months.
“This reflects the extent of reliance on the platform and the maturity of the data infrastructure in the Kingdom,” he said while attending a panel discussion at the LEAP 26 conference in Riyadh on Tuesday. Eng. Ahmed Alsuwaiyan, governor of the Digital Government Authority, also attended the discussion, which focused on the integration of government services through the comprehensive national application Tawakkalna and its impact on improving the user experience and enhancing the efficiency of government operations.
Alwagait said that the ambition by 2030 is to achieve zero duplication of information, zero paper, and approach 100 percent in the provision of proactive services, so that services reach beneficiaries according to their needs and at the appropriate time, without requiring them to resubmit data and documents already available in government systems, while maintaining the privacy of their data.
Alwagait stated that the achievements of the Tawakkalna application reflect a shift in the way the government operates toward an integrated, beneficiary-centered system. He explained that achieving 100 percent integration of government application services represents a starting point for re-engineering services around beneficiary needs and life events, moving from searching through more than 1,700 services to a more proactive experience supported by artificial intelligence. This includes launching the pilot phase of the “Shamel” smart assistant, enabling the provision of services and procedures related to beneficiary needs in a more convenient and proactive manner.
For his part, Alsuwaiyan stated that the inclusion of services from 62 government entities in the Tawakkalna application reflects the advanced level of integration achieved by the Kingdom’s digital government system. He said that the true value of this integration goes beyond simply bringing services together on one platform to building a cohesive government experience centered around the beneficiary, saving time and effort while raising the quality and efficiency of services.
“This is achieved through the governance of integration, the standardization of criteria, and the promotion of the use of national digital enablers, contributing to greater efficiency in government spending and enhancing the Kingdom’s competitiveness in global digital government indicators,” Alsuwaiyan pointed out.
