    Abu Dhabi: Abu Dhabi Police have called on motorists to come to a complete stop when a school bus extends its side stop sign and to maintain a minimum distance of five metres to ensure the safe movement of students boarding or disembarking.

    The police urged drivers to pay close attention to school buses and comply with the stop sign, stressing the importance of not proceeding past a bus when the sign is displayed.

    Abu Dhabi Police warned that failure to stop upon seeing a school bus stop sign carries a fine of Dh1,000 and 10 traffic points.

    The force stressed that student safety is a shared responsibility and called on motorists to exercise caution near schools and school buses and comply with traffic regulations that help provide a safe environment for students.
