According to a recent report from Bloomberg, Nvidia is in discussions with South Korean AI chip designer Rebellions about possible collaborations, including a technical partnership, investment or a potential acquisition.

    Nvidia CEO Jensen Huang recently met with Rebellions co-founder and CEO Sunghyun Park at Nvidia’s headquarters in Santa Clara, California, to discuss a potential tie-up, according to the news agency.

    Bloomberg noted talks between Nvidia and the six-year-old startup are preliminary and may not result in a transaction.

    Huang has led an extensive investment push in recent years as Nvidia works to maintain its central position in the AI industry.

    Those efforts have included deals with high-profile startups. In late 2025, Nvidia reached an arrangement with U.S. AI company Groq, reportedly valued at $20 billion, securing a nonexclusive licence while absorbing most of its engineering staff.

    Nvidia said the deal did not constitute an acquisition, since Groq continues to operate independently and run its own cloud business.

    Rebellions, based in Bundang, South Korea, has raised roughly $850 million from investors including SK Hynix, Samsung Ventures, Arm Holdings and SK Telecom, and was most recently valued at around $2.3 billion in March.

    The total includes a $400 million pre-IPO round led by Mirae Asset Financial Group and the Korea National Growth Fund, whose contribution marked its first direct investment under a K-Nvidia initiative aimed at building up South Korea’s domestic AI chip industry.

    Rebellions stated at the time the funding would support a push into the U.S. market, scaled production of its Rebel100 chip platform, and preparations for a future IPO. The company has also received direct investment from the South Korean government.

    Founded in 2020, Rebellions is among a group of semiconductor startups designing and deploying their own chips to compete with market leader Nvidia.

    The company focuses on neural processing units for data centres, built for AI inference workloads, and has launched two AI chips since its founding.
