King Salman Park Foundation (KSPF) and Huawei Tech Investment Saudi Arabia Co. Ltd. have signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) at LEAP 2026, establishing a framework for strategic cooperation focused on advancing the Park’s smart-city capabilities, AI enablement and technology innovation.
The cooperation supports King Salman Park’s ambition to create an intelligent, engaging and continuously evolving urban destination in the heart of Riyadh, where technology serves as an enabler for exceptional experiences for visitors, residents and employees, while supporting smarter, more efficient and sustainable operations.
Aligned with the ambitions of Saudi Vision 2030, the two-year MoU provides a framework through which KSPF and Huawei will explore how advanced digital capabilities and emerging technologies can contribute to the continued evolution of King Salman Park. The cooperation brings together AI and innovation, smart-city platforms, digital infrastructure, intelligent operations, talent development, and sustainability.
AI and innovation at the centre
A key focus of the cooperation will be exploring the potential of Artificial Intelligence across King Salman Park’s evolving digital ecosystem.
KSPF and Huawei will work together to explore AI innovation scenarios and an AI development roadmap, while supporting the validation of selected AI use cases through proof-of-concept initiatives. The cooperation also encompasses the development of smart-city platform frameworks addressing areas including system integration, data integration, data governance, and common interface and service standards.
Beyond AI, the cooperation establishes a framework for exploring and piloting emerging technologies including Digital Twin, robotics, augmented and virtual reality, intelligent automation and sustainable digital solutions. Successful innovations may be assessed for potential integration into the Park’s digital ecosystem to enhance intelligent operations, visitor experience, sustainability and future smart-park capabilities.
Technology designed around experience
The cooperation reflects an approach in which technology is not viewed as an end in itself, but as an enabler of how King Salman Park can be experienced, operated and continuously improved.
By bringing together AI, data, smart-city technologies and intelligent operations, KSPF aims to explore new ways of creating more intuitive and engaging experiences while giving its teams greater operational visibility and enabling improved service quality and efficiency.
This ambition will be supported by work on standardised ICT architecture and technical frameworks, as well as smart-city platform principles covering system and data integration and data governance. These foundations are intended to support a secure, scalable and future-ready digital environment capable of evolving alongside the Park.
Building long-term innovation capability
The cooperation also places emphasis on developing the people and capabilities required to sustain technological innovation over the long term.
The MoU includes ICT talent development and knowledge-transfer initiatives, including a train-the-trainer model designed to build internal technical capability and enable KSPF’s engineers and developers to develop skills around evolving technologies.
This combination of technology exploration, capability development and innovation is intended to help KSPF continuously assess and adopt technologies that can support the future evolution of King Salman Park.
