Design features can also serve a practical purpose. A full-width wall feature behind the bed, for example, can provide a display area or shelf for books and personal belongings allowing for self expression, while integrated concealed lighting adds functionality without compromising the overall aesthetic.
Wall finishes, meanwhile, can help establish a calm and cohesive atmosphere. Soft, coordinated colours and materials can reduce visual distraction while giving the room a considered sense of personality. Lighting can then be adapted throughout the day, from brighter white light for studying and reading to warmer lighting for relaxation and before bedtime. Concealed lighting can also be integrated into wall finishes, behind the bed, beneath shelves and within wall-mounted units.
