Temperatures set to reach 49°C inland, with humid conditions and possible mist expected overnight and early Monday

Abu Dhabi: The National Center of Meteorology (NCM) has forecast partly cloudy to cloudy conditions at times across parts of the UAE on Sunday, with a chance of light rainfall over some northern and eastern areas.

According to the weather bulletin, conditions will be influenced by an extension of a weak surface low-pressure system from the east, accompanied by an upper-air high-pressure system.

The NCM said humidity levels are expected to rise during the night and into Monday morning over some western coastal areas, with a possibility of mist formation.

Light to moderate winds are forecast, becoming fresh at times in some areas.

    Temperatures

    Expected temperatures include:

    • Coastal and island areas: 40°C to 45°C, with lows of 29°C to 33°C
    • Internal areas: 44°C to 49°C, with lows of 26°C to 31°C
    • Mountain areas: 32°C to 38°C, with lows of 28°C to 32°C

    Wind

Winds will generally be southeasterly to northwesterly over coastal and inland areas, and southeasterly to northeasterly over the mountains, with speeds of:

    • 10-20 km/h, reaching up to 30 km/h at times

    Outlook for the coming days

The NCM expects fair to partly cloudy conditions through next week, with a chance of convective cloud formation over eastern and southern areas during the afternoon, which may bring rainfall.

Winds are forecast to strengthen at times, causing blowing dust and reducing visibility in some areas, while seas will remain slight to moderate in the Arabian Gulf and Oman Sea.
